In rural Malawi and northern Uganda, the cost of primary school — fees, uniforms, books, transport — sits just out of reach for the families who would benefit from it most. The result is the same in both countries: girls drop out first, and rarely return.
This appeal funds a full school year for 1,200 children across three partner-run schools. Each child receives uniform, books, lunch, and a place in a structured tutoring programme run by trained local teachers. Sponsorship is needs-based, with priority for first-generation learners.
£50 covers a child for a full term. £150 covers a child for the full school year. £3,000 sponsors a class of twenty.
You receive a termly report from the school with attendance, progress, and (with consent) a letter from the child you are supporting.
